Toyota-Hilux-Electric-Thailand-2
Toyota has officially announced that production of the electric Toyota Hilux will begin in late 2025. This represents a significant shift in Toyota's strategy, highlighting its gradual expansion into the full EV market.
The concept for the electric Hilux was unveiled in December 2022 in Thailand, but Toyota did not disclose details about the battery pack size, targeted range, or other key specifications. Nonetheless, Toyota has previously hinted at a range of approximately 200 km. Although this figure isn't specified under any particular test cycle, it suggests an emphasis on urban mobility.
The prototype revealed in late 2022 showcased a single-cab Hilux with a 4x2 configuration and a long bed featuring a floor-mounted battery. This design is based on the model currently available in Thailand. The Hilux Revo EV will compete directly with the
electric Isuzu D-Max
, which is also set to be assembled in Thailand.
